The Seminar on News in Aseptic Processing and Packaging was held in Espoo on January 30 - 31, 1991. The Seminar was organized by the Nordic Aseptic Processes project and Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT), Food Research Laboratory. At the Seminar invited international experts presented recent development concerning equipment and methods for aseptic processing and packaging as well as aspects of market development, quality and safety of aseptic products. Most of the presentations concentrated on aseptic processing and packaging of high-viscous and particulate products. New techniques such as Twintherm, Stork Single Flow Selective holding sections particle sterilization system, Ohmic Heater, Tetra Pak system and Odin packaging system intended for particulate products were introduced.
