Unveiling the Mysteries: Advancing Understanding of Tooth-Biomaterials Interface Degradation

Bidragets beskrivning

Dental caries, or tooth decay, is the most significant health burden. Worldwide, approximately 2.43 billion people have dental caries in their permenant teeth..The treatment of caries depends on the severity of the lesion and the extent of decay into the tooth surface. Resin composite is currently the most used dental restorative materials. but its logengevity is limited and often leads to a cycle of failed restorations. The development in restorative field mainly focused on mechanical and clinical factors while neglecting the interactions of the materials with their biological surroundings and its effect on treatment longevity. The proposed research aims to provide innovative, bioresponsive restorative solutions for treatment of dental caries to prevent inevitable further loss of dental tissue and improve patient quality of life.
