Combining Virtual Reality and Machine Learning to Improve ADHD Diagnostics

Bidragets beskrivning

The project aims to advance the search of objective markers of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) by utilizing recent advances in virtual reality (VR) and game technology. The rich data obtained from the VR sensors provides an opportunity to analyze complex behavioral patterns and apply machine learning methods. Our group has recently developed a VR game called EPELI (Seesjärvi et al., 2021; see also https://tinyurl.com/3ftpskft for a gameplay video), which allows measuring attention and executive function deficits in naturalistic situations. This project will further advance EPELI to make it more accurate, and sensitive in detecting complex symptom profiles of children with ADHD.
