24-hour movement behavior phenotypes: temporal patterns, determinants and health consequences (MOVE)
Bidragets beskrivning
In terms of movement behavior, each given period during a 24-h day is spent in either sleeping, sedentary, light physical activity, or moderate-to-vigorous physical activity. Movement behaviors are codependent with each other, but only recent advances in 24-hour accelerometer measurements have offered possibilities to detailed examination of the daily behavior. The purpose of this project is to identify 24-h movement behavior phenotypes, and to examine changes in movement behaviors due to common life events as well as after physical activity interventions. In addition, we investigate how changes in 24-h movement behavior associate with changes in cardiometabolic risk factors, physical and mental health. The project takes advantage of five high-resolution cohorts and two randomized controlled trials from Finland and other European countries.
