The data contain chat and e-mail discussions between guidance counsellors and Finnish youth who sought help with their problems in the Suunta E-Guidance Service. The problems focused on education, employment, and general life management. Suunta service is an anonymous web-based chat service for youth between the ages of 15 and 25. The background variables were the contact date, counselor number, and type of counsel (chat or e-mail). In addition, the data contain an original case id, which can be used to link the discussion to the original publication.
