The data consist of 42 narratives written by university students on their self-perceived social class, parents' social class, the significance of social class in the university environment, and experiences of university studies. The writing invitation was sent to the e-mail lists of student organisations for students studying social research, social work, social policy, social psychology or similar subjects in Finnish universities. Instructions given to narrative writers also asked them to provide information on their age, major subject, year of study, occupation of the parents, and whether they were the first persons to have an academic degree in their family. The dataset is only available in Finnish.
