Forest fire danger, 1981-2099
Beskrivning
This dataset is a part of FMI’s BioClimFMI gridded datasets produced mainly as a contribution of the Forbio-project. Datasets include derived climatological variables needed mainly in forestry and agricultural applications. In this dataset is given then mean annual number of days when fire danger is considered to be high. The criteria is that the Canadian fire weather index (FWI) is higher than 17. With this criteria, the number of days is roughly the same as the average annual number of days when forest fire warning is been issued in Finland, i.e. the Finish Forest Fire index is 4 or higher.
The estimate has been calculated for the periods 1981-2010, 2021-2050 and 2070-2099 using climate scenarios under representative concentration pathways (RCP) 4.5 (moderate emissions) and 8.5 (high emissions).
Spatial resolution (lon × lat) is 0.2° × 0.1°.
This datasets is available as a CSV file.
The method and the data used in creation of the dataset is described in the publications:
