The study charted the memories of Finns who lived their youth in the 1980s with a focus on the music of the time and its effect on everyday life, hobbies and fashion. The participants wrote about where and how they had listened to music, which artists and bands they had liked the most, and what music had meant to them at the time. There are 60 texts and two images in the dataset. The data collection was conducted by the Niin kasaria ("That's so '80s") research programme of the Department of History and Ethnology at the University of Jyväskylä, Finnish Literature Society and Society of Swedish Literature in Finland. Background information included age, gender, occupation and place of residence. The dataset is only available in Finnish.
