Utilization of high-resolution printing and low-temperature la-ser-assisted ALD for sustainable large-area electronics

Akronym

ROPALD

Bidragets beskrivning

The ROPALD project develops a new, environmentally friendly manufacturing method for large-area electronics. It builds on three key research results: ultra-precise printing of electronic patterns, high-performance zinc oxide transistors made without photolithography, and a novel laser-assisted technique for depositing thin films at low temperatures. Together, these innovations enable the production of lightweight, low-cost, and potentially biodegradable electronic devices. The project will explore how these technologies can be used in real-world applications such as RFID/NFC, flexible displays, environmental sensors, and medical diagnostics. By working closely with industry partners, the project aims to bring these sustainable electronics solutions closer to commercial use and strengthen Finland's role in the future of green electronics manufacturing.
