The distribution of tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV) and human disease cases of tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) have been increasing, but the reasons for this are largely unknown. The aim of this multidisciplinary project is to investigate the climatic and ecological drivers of TBEV establishment and circulation in boreal environment. The results of the project and their dissemination will help prevent the spread of TBEV to humans.
