Sustainable self-healing polymer electronics with the ultimate compatibility

Bidragets beskrivning

The 2SHPE-UC project aims to develop ecologically sustainable, hyperelastic, and self-healing polymer electronics that achieve the extreme compatibility at material level as all materials are based on the same base polymer. The research will develop novel solution-based elastomer blends and composites based on green solvents, additives and surfactants, utilizing mainly carbon-based organic fillers to achieve the electrical functionality. High performance and excellent usability of the novel materials will be demonstrated in practice by manufacturing, for example, fully stretchable and SH semiconductor component structures (e.g. solar cells, photodiodes, transistors), display technologies, and logic circuits by using large-area, cost-effective, and low-temperature printed electronics manufacturing methods capable of also reducing material waste. The research will be carried out at the Microelectronics Research Unit at the University of Oulu.
