Interface Investigations of New Halide-based Solid Electrolytes for Solid-state Batteries (In2BaT)

Bidragets beskrivning

Developing sustainable and reliable batteries is urgently necessary to accelerate the transition to a carbon emission-free society. The In2BaT aims to develop safe and efficient halide-based solid electrolytes with cobalt-free cathode chemistries, and high-capacity anodes for solid-state batteries (SSBs) to investigate their interfaces will provide a better cycle life. The materials and processes that the project intends to use are seen as major game changers for developing SSBs that meet key requirements such as high ionic conductivity at room temperature and cost-effective, environmentally friendly processing, among others. With this development, the In2BaT project will be able to benefit from the advanced materials investigations related to structural and ionic investigations, interface issues, advanced characterizations, and optimized cell chemistry, which will be the outcome of increased performance in future mobility applications.
