Porous nanocompositites and their gradient structures to enable advanced mm-wave telecommunication (CompAdWave)
Bidragets beskrivning
The launch of sixth generation (6G) telecommunication technologies in 2030 is predicted to provide an at least 50-fold increase of wireless data transfer rates, which will also allow for the widespread use of several rising technologies such as massive internet-of-things and highly interactive virtual reality. To enable such efforts and goals, telecommunication hardware is expected to comply with seamless low-loss transmission of electromagnetic waves at sub-THz frequencies. Our project CompAdWave is addressing a part of the challenges, by the exploration and development of new materials, components and electronics packages whose dielectric permittivity can be tuned to decrease the losses and to increase the gains of 6G antenna chips. The expected results of the project will thus contribute to the realization of more reliable, high speed and longer operation range data transmission with more efficient energy usage, which are essential for the upcoming 6G technologies.
