Resilient Wireless Industrial Networks for the 6G Era (ReWIN-6G)
Bidragets beskrivning
Wireless networks have traditionally been designed for human users requiring moderate quality of service (QoS) guarantees. The network coped with errors through redundancy mechanism such as retransmission. On the other hand, critical applications requiring very high QoS guarantees were connected using wired networks which is not as flexible as wireless connections. Most critical applications connect machines, forming what is known as the Internet of Things or IoT. Recent development in wireless IoT technologies have opened the door for critical applications to be connected wirelessly, for example autonomous self-driving cars and industrial machineries. The main challenge here is to maintain the stringent QoS requirements of such critical IoT connections with wireless connectivity. This project aims to address this need by developing resilient wireless networks that can efficiently serve the needs of critical IoT networks in industries.
