Quantitative analysis of cell surface glycan engagement in nanoparticle endocytosis: a chemical biology approach via metabolic labelling and bioorthogonal reactions
Bidragets beskrivning
Nanotechnology has provided a huge impact in the drug delivery field. From anti-tumor drugs to mRNA COVID vaccines, we have witnessed more and more medical applications of nanomaterials. Despite the substantial achievement in nanomaterials development, we still do not fully understand how nanomaterials enter cells, which is of great importance for their applications. In this project, I propose a new assay to study the role of cell surface glycan (a major component of cell membranes) in nanoparticle internalization. I hope the strategy proposed will contribute to the fundamental understanding of nanomaterials-cell interaction, and benefit the future development of nanomedicine.
