Entanglements of multilocality and energy demand
Bidragets beskrivning
There is urgency in understanding how societies can reach energy demand reduction. The project investigates how practices and policies of multilocality affect energy demand in Finland. The study gains understanding on (1) how energy demand is affected through social practices of multilocality; (2) what kind of opportunities and tensions multilocality brings to energy transition; and (3) how policy interventions could be reconsidered in the light of this study. Through qualitative empirical research, the project adds social scientific knowledge on the socio-technical characteristics of energy demand, generating considerable and applicable societal impact for pursuits of carbon-neutrality.
