The LignoGels project relies on the valorization of the underexploited lignocellulosic materials to develop lignin-based hydrogels/microneedles for cancer immunotherapy and wound healing. Here, I will incorporate the lignin nanoparticles into hydrogel structures based on natural polymers containing the therapeutic agents for local administration, maximizing the retention time and therapeutic efficiency of the nanoplatforms. This project will be conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry, in collaboration with the Faculty of Pharmacy (University of Helsinki) and University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne (France). The research data obtained will be published as original manuscripts, and disseminated in national/international scientific conferences. This project represents a green alternative to the conventional therapies, providing innovative and cost-effective platforms for cancer immunotherapy and wound healing, along with a more sustainable application of Earth's resources.
