Better Health at Home – Optimized Human-Centered Care of Predialysis and Home Dialysis Patients (BOC)

Bidragets beskrivning

Patients on home dialysis (HD) have higher quality of life, less risk of health complications and better overall outcomes. It is also the most cost-effective modality. Increasing the uptake of HD has however been difficult and slow. eHealth, better streamlined services and relevant psychosocial support could reduce barriers for HD and thereby promote better outcomes. In this consortium project, we will study how to improve follow-up procedures of patients, effects of providing patients with their own clinical data in easily interpretable ways, and what psychosocial and behavior change interventions are most effective in promoting the uptake of HD. We will also explore how to develop novel solutions using a user-centered approach. Lastly, we will evaluate the cost-benefit of HD, also including non-monetary, psychosocial benefits. To achieve this a broad range of methods, including statistical data, qualitative interviews, wearable technology, and co-design methods will be used
